Emperor 2.0 Update


After 2.5 years of intense development, our student project is now entering the solo maintenance phase. We’d like to express our immense gratitude to the entire team for their hard work, dedication, and creativity. It’s because of your efforts that our game looks the way it does today. Thank you for every contribution, big or small!

New Features and Improvements

Fire Effects in Destroyed Buildings

  • Added realistic fire effects that appear when buildings are destroyed.
  • Additional particle and sound effects enhance immersion.

Combat System Improvements (Most Important!)

  • Adjusted the attack system – no longer requiring pixel-perfect clicks to initiate attacks.
  • Improved combat animations for smoother and more natural-looking battles.
  • Damage balancing – instead of adding more attacks, we reduced the attack power of overpowered units.
  • Enhanced combat readability through clearer hit effects and improved unit status indicators.

Building and Unit Fixes

  • Improved collisions for destroyed buildings to prevent interaction issues with units.
  • Unit deaths now impact the population resource, making unit losses more meaningful.
  • Fixed unit spawning inside buildings, ensuring proper placement on the map.
  • Adjusted building placement – it’s now impossible to place buildings on top of units.
  • Updated building categorization for better organization and settlement management.

 Gameplay and UI Improvements

  • New, more intuitive cursor with animated interaction indicators.
  • Improved unit spawning system – better placement logic prevents unit congestion at spawn points.
  • Enhanced unit movement system – optimized pathfinding for smoother navigation and better obstacle avoidance.
  • Refined unit and building animations – movements are now smoother and more responsive.
  • Added a "Continue" button in the menu for quick game resumption.
  • Adjusted camera rotation for more fluid control and customizable viewing angles.
  • New health bar system for units – more readable and dynamically updated during combat.
  • Food resources will be needed to recruit new units

Currently in Development:

  • Magic System – introducing spells and special abilities that can change battle outcomes and influence settlement progression.
